12 Stones

12 Stones is a rock band from Mandeville, Louisiana. Lead vocalist Paul McCoy was also featured in the successful Evanescence single "Bring Me to Life", for which he won a Grammy. The name of the band is a reference to their Christian values. As stated on their official website, "12 Stones" is taken metaphorically from the twelve stones in the Hoshen, a breastplate worn by the high priest of Levitical order in the Old Testament. The rights to the name were bought from a family who had come up with the name for their cottage. In an interview on the national television special Broken TV, McCoy explained that the band's name reflects a reference to the twelve stones that the Israelites erected after they crossed the Jordan River. McCoy also stated in an interview with Christian Music Review that their name is also a reference to the twelve disciples that followed Jesus.

Band History

12 Stones was formed in 2000 in Mandeville, Louisiana, a small suburb north of New Orleans. The first line-up consisted of Paul McCoy (vocals), Kevin Dorr (bass), Eric Weaver (guitar), and Aaron Gainer (drums). After performing several live shows, the band recorded a demo and went to New York City where they performed at an industry showcase.

After that, the band was signed up by Wind-Up Records.
The band's eponymous debut album was released in 2002, produced by Jay Baumgardner. The band gained more fame when vocalist McCoy performed in Evanescence's song "Bring Me to Life" opposite Amy Lee. The song was included in both Evanescence's album, Fallen and in the Daredevil film soundtrack. In 2004, Kevin Dorr quit the band and touring guitarist Greg Trammell later became an official member. Their second album, Potter's Field came out in 2004. Both albums were supported with heavy touring. Clint Amereno and then Aaron Hill were brought in to play bass for the shows. After their last tour, the band decided to take a break from the band to be with their respective families. After the departure of Greg Trammell, 12 Stones completed their lineup with ex-Breaking Point guitarist Justin Rimer, a producer on the band's third album, and former Presence bassist DJ Stange. Their third album, Anthem For The Underdog, was released in 2007. The album is said to be inspired by the effects of Hurricane Katrina on their hometown. Shortly after the album's release, Stange quit and Shawn Wade played bass for the band on tour.

Paramore "My Heart"

Paramore's video for 'My Heart' from their album, All We Know Is Falling.

Paramore My Heart Lyrics

I am finding out that maybe I was wrong
That I've fallen down and I can't do this alone

Stay with me, this is what I need, please?

Sing us a song and we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own but what would it be without you?

I am nothing now and it's been so long
Since I've heard A sound, the sound of my only hope

This time I will be listening.

Sing us a song and we'll sing it back to you
We could sing our own but what would it be without you?

This heart, it beats, beats for only you
This heart, it beats, beats for only you

This heart, it beats, beats for only you
My heart is yours

This heart, it beats, beats for only you
My heart is yours
(My heart, it beats for you)

This heart, it beats, beats for only you
(It beats, beats for only you. My heart is your's)
My heart, my heart is yours
(Please don't go now, Please don't fade away)
My heart, my heart is yours
(Please don't go now, Please don't fade away)
My heart is yours
My heart is yours
(Please don't go now, Please don't fade away)
My heart is yours
My heart is...

Paramore "Franklin"

Paramore's video for 'Franklin' from their album, All We Know Is Falling.

Paramore is one of those bands that have earned their fair share of the h-word. ... "Franklin" is a song about their adopted hometown of Franklin, Tennessee

This album is an extremely strong debut, although it is a shame that it has been out for around a year. In general, the band has a strong punk/scene sound typical to their label (Fueled by Ramen). The first song is a strong, loud wake up call perfectly suited to its position on the album. From there, the record continues with more upbeat tunes like Pressure and Brighter. Later tracks like Conspiracy and Franklin provide a darker contrast to preceding songs

The lyrics are pretty typical fare for this sort of band: Nothing too deep, but nothing too shallow at the same time. They do fit the band and the lead singer, whose voice is raw but quite talented and well-controlled. She has just the right range for her band.

The album overall is mastered well with a defined bass and (usually) crisp treble. This album manages to do something that many other albums fail to achieve: it is easy to listen to but also provides for some great in-depth listening experiences. In other words, you can listen to it passively and enjoy it just as much as if you were heavily concentrating on the music.

Paramore Franklin Lyrics

And when we get home, I know we won't be home at all
This place we live, it is not where we belong
And I miss who we were in the town that we could call our own
Going back to get away after everything has changed

Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?
(Everything has changed)
Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?

So we stand here now and no one knows us at all
I won't get used to this
I won't get used to being gone
And going back won't feel the same if we aren't staying
Going back to get away after everything has changed

Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?
(Everything has changed)
Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind?
(Everything has changed)
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?

Taking up our time
Taking up our time
Taking up our time
It's taking up our time again
Go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time again
Go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time again
Go back we can't go back at all
It's taking up our time, taking up our time

Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?
Do you remember that? Do you remember that?

Paramore's video for 'Conspiracy' from their album, All We Know Is Falling.

"About the song Conspiracy performed by Paramore" i love paramore... Hayley's voice is just wonderful...and the beat of the this song is just amazing

Paramore Conspiracy Lyrics

Please speak softly, for they will hear us
And they'll find out why we don't trust them
Speak up dear cause I cannot hear you
I need to know why we don't trust them

Explain to me this conspiracy against me
And tell me how I've lost my power

Where can I turn? Cause I need something more
Surrounded by uncertainty I'm so unsure of
Tell me why I feel so alone cause I need to Know to whom do I owe

Explain to me this conspiracy against me
And tell me how I've lost my power

I thought that we'd make it
Because you said that we'd make it through
And when all security fails
will you be there to help me through

Explain to me this conspiracy against me
And tell me how I've lost my power

I've lost my power

Paramore - Whoa lyrics

I've hoped for change,
and it gets better everyday
I've hoped for change,
but still I feel the same

There's something wrong,
cause everybody knows
That we can do this on our own

And we've got everybody singing
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
We've got everybody singing
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

We're doing fine
And it gets better everytime
We're doing fine
But I'll let you decide

There's something wrong,
cause everybody knows
That we can do this on our own

And we've got everybody singing
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com
We've got everybody singing
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

And I'll confess
That I can be a little selfish
And I'll admit
I don't want you to help me through this
I don't want to start over again

And we've got everybody singing
And we've got everybody singing
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
And we've got everybody singing
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

And I'll confess
That I can be a little selfish, I can, I can
And I'll admit
I don't want you to help me through this
I don't want to start over again

Paramore - Never Let This Go

"All We Know" is a single from Paramore's debut album All We Know Is Falling.

I love this song and this band! They are so awesome!!!

I always got the sense that she was saying that he's become such a part of her life that she really couldn't imagine being without him. But at the same time, he's changed and she doesn't want him around. She's not strong enough to break things off so she's hoping that he'll do it instead.

Paramore Never Let This Go Lyrics

Maybe if my heart stops beating
It won't hurt this much
And never will I have to answer
Again to anyone

Please don't get me wrong

Because I'll never let this go
But I can't find the words to tell you
I don't want to be alone
But now I feel like I don't know you

One day you'll get sick of
saying that everything's alright
And by then I'm sure I'll be pretending
Just like I am tonight

Please don't get me wrong

Because I'll never let this go
But I can't find the words to tell you
I don't want to be alone
But now I feel like I don't know you

Let this go, let this go

But I'll never let this go
But I can't find the words to tell you
I don't want to be alone
But now I feel like I don't know you

And I'll never let this go
I can't find the words to tell you
That now I feel like I don't know you

Paramore "All We Know"

"All We Know" is a single from Paramore's debut album All We Know Is Falling.

Paramore - All We Know lyrics

We've tried so hard to understand, but we can't.
We held the world out in our hands and you ran away.

It takes some time to let you go and it shows.

Cause all we know is falling, it falls.
Remember, cause I know that we won't forget at all.

Now we can follow you back home but we won't.
Is this what you had waited for? Just to be alone?

It takes some time to let you go and it shows.

Cause all we know is falling, it falls.
Remember, cause I know that we won't forget at all.

You never, you never said
This wasn't what you wanted, was it? Was it?

This isn't what you wanted.
This isn't what you wanted.

Cause all we know is falling, it falls.
Remember, cause I know that we won't forget at all

Paramore "Brighter"

Paramore's video for 'Brighter' from their album, All We Know Is Falling.

Paramore "Brighter" Lyrics

So this is how it goes
Well I, I would have never known
And if it ends today
I'll still say that you shine brighter than anyone

Now I think we're taking this too far
Don't you know that it's not this hard?
Well it's not this hard
But if you take what's your's and I take mine
Must we go there?
Please not this time. No, not this time.

Well this is not your fault
But if I'm without you
Then I will feel so small
And if you have to go
Always know that you shine brighter than anyone does.

Now I think we're taking this too far
Don't you know that it's not this hard?
Well it's not this hard
But if you take what's your's and I take mine
Must we go there?
Please not this time. No, not this time.

If you run away now,
Will you come back around?
And if you ran away,
I'd still wave goodbye
Watching you shine bright.

Now I think we're taking this too far
Don't you know that it's not this hard?
Well it's not this hard
But if you take what's your's and I take mine
Must we go there?
Please not this time. No, not this time.

I'll wave goodbye
Watching you shine bright
(You shine bright, you shine bright)
I'll wave goodbye tonight.

Paramore "Here we go again"

Paramore's video for 'Here We Go Again' from their album, All We Know Is Falling.

Here We Go Again Lyrics

And here we go again
With all the things we said
And not a minute spent
To think that we'd regret
So we just take it back,
These words and hold our breath
Forget the things we swore we meant

I'll write you just to let you know that I'm alright
Can't say I'm sad to see you go
Cause I'm not. No I'm not. Well, I'm not.

And here we go again
With all the things we did
And now I'm wondering
Just who would I have been
To be the one attached
At all time to your hip?
Forget the things we swore we meant.

I'll write you just to let you know that I'm alright
Can't say I'm sad to see you go
Cause I'm not, no I'm not.
Well, I'm not. (No, I'm not, no I'm not).

I'll write you to let you know that I'm alright
Can't say I'm sad to see you go
Cause I'm not (no, I'm not)
Well, I'm not (no, I'm not)
I'm not, I'm not.

And here we go again
With all the things we said
And not a minute spent
To think that we'd regret
So we just take it back

Avril Lavigne "Girlfriend"

Avril Lavigne "Girlfriend" The remix video, the first remix off The Best Damn Thing.

Avril Lavigne "Girlfriend" Lyrics

[Chorus]
Hey hey, you you
I don't like your girlfriend
No way, no way
I think you need a new one
Hey hey, you you
I could be your girlfriend
Hey hey, you you
I know that you like me
No way, no way
I know it's not a secret
Hey hey, you you
I want to be your girlfriend

You're so fine
I want you mine
You're so delicious
I think about you all the time
You're so addictive
Don't you know what I can do to make you feel alright?
(feel alright, feel alright, feel alright)

Don't pretend I think you know I'm damn precious
And hell yeah I'm the motherfuckin' princess
I can tell you like me too and you know I'm right
(know I'm right, know I'm right, know I'm right)

She's like so whatever
You can do so much better
I think we should get together now
And that's what everyone's talking about

[Chorus]

Hey hey, you you
I don't like your girlfriend
No way, no way
I think you need a new one
Hey hey, you you
I could be your girlfriend
Hey hey, you you
I know that you like me
No way, no way
I know it's not a secret
Hey hey, you you
I want to be your girlfriend

I can see the way
I see the way you look at me
And even when you look away I know you think of me
I know you talk about me all the time again and again
(again and again, again, again)
So come over here and tell me what I want to hear
Better yet, make your girlfriend disappear
I don't wanna hear you say her name ever again
(and again and again and again)

'Cause she's like so whatever
And you could do so much better
I think we should get together now
And that's what everyone's talking about

[Chorus]

Hey hey, you you
I don't like your girlfriend
No way, no way
I think you need a new one
Hey hey, you you
I could be your girlfriend
Hey hey, you you
I know that you like me
No way, no way
I know it's not a secret
Hey hey, you you
I want to be your girlfriend

Oh

In a second you'll be wrapped around my finger
'Cause I can, 'cause I can do it better
There's no other, so when's it gonna sink in?
She's so stupid, what the hell were you thinkin'?

Oh

In a second you'll be wrapped around my finger
'Cause I can, 'cause I can do it better
There's no other, so when's it gonna sink in?
She's so stupid, what the hell were you thinkin'?

[Chorus]

Hey hey, you you
I don't like your girlfriend
No way, no way
I think you need a new one
Hey hey, you you
I could be your girlfriend
No way, no way
Hey hey, you you
I know that you like me
No way, no way
I know it's not a secret
Hey hey, you you
I want to be your girlfriend

Hey hey, you you
I don't like your girlfriend
No way, no way
I think you need a new one

I know it's not a secret

Avril Lavigne

Avril LAvine Teen choice awards 2007

Avril Lavigne is a girl who knows what she wants. And when it came to writing her eagerly awaited third album, The Best Damn Thing, she had one very clear goal in mind: To make it fun. While touring in 2004 for her last album, Under My Skin, which sold more than 8 million copies worldwide, the Canadian-born punk-pop dynamo found that her favorite songs to play were the faster, more up-tempo songs so she resolved to make a record that captured the kind of high-spirited, full-throttle energy that she loved to unleash on-stage.

The Best Damn Thing is brimming with gutsy guitar riffs, instantaneously catchy sing-along party-starting choruses, power pop punk, and rebellious rock 'n' roll attitude. It's a marked departure from the darker, more introspective tone of Under My Skin and on tracks such as the defiant, riotous, kiss-off-to-a-cheating-boyfriend "Everything Back But You", Avril took pleasure in creating scenarios for her lyrics that weren't, as she says, "straight out of my diary." The result is a collection of songs that reveal just how far she's evolved as a songwriter and singer, from the sassy, empowering "I Can Do Better" (one of Avril's personal favorites) to the irrepressible first single "Girlfriend" which unexpectedly combines a hip-hop beat with beefy power chords, hand-claps, and a chanted girl-group-style chorus with a punk rock twist to the emotional ballad "Keep Holding On", which she wrote at the request of 20th Century Fox for the studio's fantasy/adventure film Eragon.

As an artist with a keen and well-trained ear for powerful, magnetic pop melodies, Avril was intensely involved in every aspect of The Best Damn Thing's creation: From being fiercely independent while writing her own songs ("I didn't have an A&R guy on this record," she emphasizes. "I knew exactly how I wanted it to sound."), to choosing her producers and musical collaborators, to obsessively going back and tweaking guitar tones and drumbeats in the studio, she worked hard to ensure that it would be her best record yet.

Paramore "Emergency"

Paramore's video for 'Emergency' from their album, All We Know Is Falling.

"Emergency" is the second single from Paramore's album All We Know Is Falling. It was released in the UK on August 21, 2006 on 7" Vinyl and was a HMV Exclusive Single which came with a B-side, "Oh, Star," and a free poster. The song, written by Hayley Williams, is about how love is taken for granted and means nothing nowadays, and that relationships are really in emergency status. It was written about a time when a member's parent's were about to split up, and they had to watch this happen in front of them as a child with no power to do anything about it.

The music video starts with Hayley and Jeremy sitting in a derelict room. The other band members walk in, with everyone has having cuts and bandages over their body. The director walks in throwing Hayley some carnations and leading the way outside. Outside we see a set with cameras and lighting, the band gets blood make-up touch-up and the director mouths "Action!" and the band does a group performance.

The carnations worn by each band member in the music video represent "emotional baggage" being carried around, stated Williams in an interview.[citation needed] The video was directed by Shane Drake who also directed their "Pressure" video as well as Panic! at the Disco's "I Write Sins" music video.

The dress Hayley wore in the video is now in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in the Warped Tour exhibit.

Paramore Emergency Lyrics

As if we have an emergency
As if we have an emergency
If you thought I'm breathing you were wrong
'cause I won't stop holding on
Are you listening?
If you thought I'm breathing you were wrong
'cause I won't stop holding on
This is an emergency
So are you listening?

And I can't pretend that I don't see this
It's really not your fault
No one cares to talk about it,
talk about it

I've seen love die way too many times
when it deserved to be alive
(deserved to be alive)
I've seen you cry way too many times
when you deserve to be alive, alive

So you give up every chance you get
just to feel new again
I think we have an emergency
I think we have an emergency
And you do your best to show me love,
but you don't know what love is
So are you listening?
So are you watching me?

And I can't pretend that I don't see this
It's really not your fault
No one cares to talk about it,
talk about it

I've seen love die way too many times
when it deserved to be alive
(deserved to be alive)
I've seen you cry way too many times
when you deserve to be alive, alive

I've seen love die way too many times
when it deserved to be alive
(deserved to be alive)
I've seen you cry way too many times
when you deserve to be alive, alive

Paramore

Paramore Biography
Paramore began in Franklin, TN with Pop/Rock outfit, whilst lead singer Hayley Williams meets his brothers Josh (guitars) and Zac Farro (drums) after moving into town from Mississippi. The two had a young band that the burgeoning singer was soon asked to join. Opening Williams' 13-year-old eyes to the likes of U2, the Cure, Sparta, and Failure, the teenagers began performing together under the name Paramore following the addition of Jason Bynum on rhythm guitar and Jeremy Davis on bass.

Local hangouts and a school talent show helped the young band members hone their chops before at last moving up to gigs at area rock clubs. The quintet's sweet melodies and earnest charisma eventually caught the attention of Florida's Fueled by Ramen label, which signed the band in April 2005.

Working with James Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Under oath) and Mike Green (Yellow card, the Black Maria), Paramore recorded their full-length debut, All We Know Is Falling. The album was issued in late July 2005, and Paramore jumped quickly into their van to support it.
In addition to a spot on New Jersey's Bamboozle Festival and multiple Warped Tour dates, they also played shows with bands like Simple Plan and Stray light Run. Hunter Lamb replaced Bynum on guitar in December 2005; time was spent in the early part of the next year on dates with Halifax, So They Say, and Bayside.

Similar to many of their musical peers, summer 2006 was then passed back on the annual Warped Tour circuit. Lamb parted ways with the group in early 2007 to get married, and Paramore continued on touring and writing new material as a quartet. The following spring they recorded their sophomore album, Riot! With producer David Bendeth and signed a major-label deal with Atlantic. Corey Apar, All Music Guide.

Paramore "Pressure"

Paramore's video for 'Pressure' from their album, All We Know Is Falling.

"Pressure" is the first single from Paramore's debut album, All We Know Is Falling, and was released in 2006.

It is about the pressure of being a teenager. The video deals with two characters a boy and a girl (who are a couple, as well) interlaced with the band playing the song. Both of them dislike their jobs. The boy works at a fast food restaurant where he receives poor treatment. The girl is a model who is refused things that she enjoys (picking her own dress, eating chocolate, etc.) Eventually the boy quits his job and goes to meet his girlfriend, but she is busy preparing for a photoshoot. The boy decides to set off the sprinklers in the building. Everyone in the building rushes out, except for the girl who stays in her chair enjoying the water. The boy and girl manage to get out and the video ends.

Chart Performance

The single failed to chart in the United States or the UK. But, they recently released it in the Philippines. It is now charting on NU 107.

Paramore "Pressure" Lyrics

Tell me where our time went
And if it was time well spent
Just don't let me fall asleep
Feeling empty again

Cuz I fear I might brake
And I fear I can't take it
Tonight i'll lie awake
Feeling empty

I can feel the pressure
It's getting closer now
We're better off without you
I can feel the pressure
It's getting closer now
We're better off without you

Now that I'm losing hope
And there's nothing else to show
For all the days that we spent
Carry away from home

Some things I'll never know
And I had to let them go
I'm sitting all alone
Feeling empty

I can feel the pressure
It's getting closer now
We're better off without you
I can feel the pressure
It's getting closer now
We're better off without you
Without you

Some things I'll never know
And I had to let them go
Some things I'll never know
And I had to let them go
But I'm sitting all alone
Feeling empty

I can feel the pressure
It's getting closer now
We're better off without you
I can feel the pressure
It's getting closer now
You're better off without me

Paramore Misery Business Lyrics

I'm in the business of misery, let's take it from the top
She's got a body like an hourglass it's ticking like a clock
It's a matter of time before we all run out...
When I thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth

I waited eight long months
She finally set him free
I told him I couldn't lie, he was the only one for me
Two weeks we had caught on fire
She's got it out for me, but I wear the biggest smile

Whoa...well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now
Whoa... it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now
But God does it feels so good
'Cause I got him where I want him now
And if you could then you know you would
'Cause God it just feels so...
It just feels so good

Second chances they don't never matter, people never change
Once a whore, you're nothing more, I'm sorry that'll never change
And about forgiveness, we're both supposed to have exchanged
I'm sorry honey, but I passed up, now look this way!

Well there's a million other girls who do it just like you
Looking as innocent as possible to get to who
They want it what they like, it's easy if you do it right

Well I refuse, I refuse, I refuse!

Whoa...well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now
Whoa... it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now
But God does it feels so good
'Cause I got him where I want him right now
And if you could then you know you would
'Cause God it just feels so...
It just feels so good ...

I watched his wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving you
Just watch my wildest dreams come true
Not one of them involving ...

Whoa, well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now ...

Whoa, well I never meant to brag
But I got him where I want him now
Whoa... it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now
But God does it feels so good
'Cause I got him where I want him now
And if you could then you know you would
'Cause God it just feels so...
It just feels so good
